Our Services
Mending Young Minds (MYM) is a community based non-profit partnering organization. The concept and core scope of services is focused on youth development and academics. MYM services combine at home and in school support services to low-income families and students with Individualized Education Plans (IEP) attending public schools.
Advanced Classroom Management #1
The Advanced Classroom Management course was developed as an alternative to traditional behavior modification approaches to changing student behavior. Although the course discusses and supports several behavior modification techniques, it goes beyond the boundaries of this approach. Mending Young Minds (MYM) teaches a social-cognitive approach to behavioral remediation compares and contrasts the two approaches, allowing students to gain a knowledge and understanding of each, but not refuting the use of either approach.
Visual Arts Program #2
The purpose of the Mending Young Minds (MYM) Visual Arts Program is to integrate therapeutic practices with visual and media arts to encourage individual development. Participants will learn to critically think about the world around them and work together to create multi-media communication expressing their ideas.
MYM Leadership/ Mentoring Program #3
MYM mentoring program will embed mentoring and workforce development into an existing community-based program that currently offers an array of effective treatment interventions. The design includes an evaluation that will fill gaps in the research on the effectiveness of mentoring with youth attending public schools.
